Doctor Venceslao Lazzari’s memorial is on the staircase of the Artists. It was painted in 1601 by Lionello Spada (1576-1622) and it represents an ornate of fake boulder with cherubs and allegorical figures.
The fresco is now drab and degraded, and it is an example of that kind of painting with fake scenic architecture that had wide diffusion in Bologna.
