The memorial of the philosopher and physician Felice Castelli

The Bolognese Felice Castelli taught at the Studio from 1559 to 1607. in the early years, he taught Logic, then Practical Medicine, simultaneously practising with great success the medical profession.

He died on 16th June 1608, while the monument dates back to 1592.

It is surmounted in the lunette by the coat of arms of the Republic of Genoa and has a plaster decoration with four winged putti that support the honorary shield.

In 2010 the restoration was sponsored by Poligrafici Editoriali S.p.a. in the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the newspaper “Il Resto del Carlino”.
